POR QUE A MALÁRIA É ENDÊMICA NO BRASIL?
Abstract
O aspecto endêmico da malária, no Brasil, já esteve perto do controle, nos anos 70, com pouco mais de 52 mil casos notificados. Nestas últimas três décadas, o nível endêmico elevou-se, de tal forma, que se distanciou da possibilidade de um controle possível para aproximar-se de um controle cego da endemia. Determinantes epidemiológicas, ecológicas, políticas, socioculturais e econômicas, são responsáveis pela mudança no curso do controle da malária, no País.
