POTENCIAL TERATOGÊNICO DOS ANTICONVULSIVANTES ATUALMENTE USADO POR GESTANTES
Abstract
As epilepsias são as desordens neurológicas mais comuns durante a gestação, acometendo cerca de 0,5% das mulheres grávidas. Apesar do progresso em diagnóstico e controle das epilepsias ter permitido que cerca de 95% dessas mulheres dessem à luz a crianças saudáveis, sabe-se que a avaliação do risco e segurança da gravidez nessas mulheres é complicada por vários fatores. Anormalidades menstruais, desordens reprodutivas endócrinas, fertilidade reduzida, síndrome dos ovários policísticos, hipogonadismo hipo ou hipergonadotrófico são mais frequentes em mulheres com epilepsia do que na população em geral. Essas anormalidades são relacionadas aos efeitos das convulsões no eixo hipotálamo-hipófise-gônada e a um possível efeito colateral dos anticonvulsivantes (NULMAN et al., 1999).Downloads
