NOMES VULGARES DE PLANTAS MEDICINAIS, UM PERIGO EM POTENCIAL. UM EXEMPLO QUE VEM DO EXTERIOR
Abstract
Em meados de 2000, um jornal belga, Le Soir, divulgou fato deveras alarmante, que vinha ocorrendo não só na Bélgica, mas também em outros países, tais como França, Espanha, Reino Unido, Japão e também Taiwan¹. O artigo do Le Soir, divulgado inclusive pela internet, tratava do registro de intoxicações graves e até mesmo de mortes provocadas pelo emprego de fitoterápico preparado com planta(s) de origem chinesa. Até a data da publicação, 15 de março de 2000, haviam sido constatados e registrados vários casos de insuficiência renal em mulheres que tomaram o citado fitoterápico, com a finalidade de emagrecer.
