Abstract

Leveduras do gênio Candida vêm sendo reconhecido como patógenos oportunistas de maior frequência em clinica médica humana. Os fatores que predispõem ás cadidoses podem ser classificados em: fatores intrísecos ou próprios dos hospedeiro; neoplasias, diabetes mellitus, hemopatias diversas, velhice, gravidez, prematuridade, Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida (SIDA) e todas as doenças que alteram a imunidade celular; fatores extrínsecos; uso de antibióticos, uso de corticoides, uso de medicamentos para o tratamento do câncer, transplante entre outras.
