IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DA ATENÇÃO FARMACÊUTICA PARA PACIENTES COM HIPERTENSÃO E DESORDENS CARDIOVASCULARES

Abstract

Em 1990, surgiu a definição de uma nova filosofia de prática farmacêutica. O termo empregado na língua inglesa foi Pharmaceutical Care,  cuja tradução mais adequada para o português é Atenção Farmacêutica. A Atenção Farmacêutica (AF) foi definida como a provisão responsável do tratamento farmacológico com o propósito de alcançar resultados concretos que melhorem a qualidade de vida dos pacientes (Hepler, Strand, 1990). Já em 1993, a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) propôs o conceito de Atenção Farmacêutica como um compêndio da prática profissional, onde o paciente é o principal beneficiário das ações do farmacêutico, e reconhece que esta AF é o conjunto das atitudes, comportamentos, compromissos, inquietudes, valores éticos, funções, conhecimentos, responsabilidades e destrezas do farmacêutico na prestação da farmacoterapia, com o objetivo de alcançar resultados terapêuticos definidos em Saúde e qualidade de vida dos pacientes (World Health Organization, 1993).
