ASSISTÊNCIA FARMACÊUTICA FRENTE À OBSTIPAÇÃO INTESTINAL NO IDOSO
Abstract
A constipação é uma das queixas mais comuns, ao se chegar à terceira idade, atingindo 26% dos idosos do sexo masculino e 34% do sexo feminino. Há uma grande incidência de uso abusivo de laxantes, seja por falta de informação médica ou por um não total esclarecimento sobre a constipação, gerada pela diversidade cultural, teoria do envelhecimento e fatores biopsicos sociais (DIASet al., 2000). De acordo com Cabrera (1997) e López (1996), no processo de envelhecimento, muitas alterações no aparelho digestivo são notadas, que, em nível motor, vão desde uma mastigação dificultosa, até uma diminuição da musculatura faríngea e colônica. No âmbito nutricional, ocorre a perda da sensibilidade gustativa, diminuição da sede, diminuição da absorção de água, eletrólitos, vitamina D, cálcio e ferro. Ocorre também atrofia da mucosa gástrica, hipocloridria e diminuição de clearance hepático.Downloads
