Abstract

O modelo de uma aparência física jovem e saudável vem sendo alvo de grande importância nos relacionamentos vividos pela sociedade contemporânea, motivo este que vem impulsionando a indústria cosmética a se diferenciar, ao longo do tempo, criando novidades sintéticas cada vez mais complexas e eficientes, capazes de prevenir, retardar ou minimizar os efeitos do envelhecimento cutâne. As causas do envelhecimento (extrínseco e intrínseco) são muitas, em que a exposição à luz solar é degrande destaque, juntamente com as radiações UVA eUVB, e os processos naturais de inflamação e formação de radicais livres, que levam ao aparecimento de rugas, linhas de expressão, manchas, alterando a elasticidade e firmeza da pele (LEONARDI, 2004).
