Abstract

A maioria das pessoas está inevitavelmente exposta a agrotóxicos, mas os trabalhadores rurais representam uma classe de destaque, pois sofrem exposição constante em seu ambiente de trabalho. Os agrotóxicos são formados por uma complexa mistura de diferentes tipos de sustâncias químicas que, no homem, induzem instabilidades cromossômicas, principalmente deleções, translocações e ganho ou perda de cromossomos inteiros, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento de câncer (Bolognesi, 2003).
