USO ABUSIVO DE BENZIDAMINA EM FORTALEZA

Abstract

Em agosto de 1995, o GPUIM (Grupo de Prevenção ao Uso Indevido de Medicamentos) foi procurado por um profissional farmacêutico que relatava estar observando em sua farmácia uma procura incomum pelo medicamento de nome comercial Benflogin® (benzidamina-20 comprimidos de 50 mg ou frasco de 20 ml com 30 mg/ml). Segundo ele, algo mais que o efeito terapêutico estaria se manifestando. Se não, porque um número considerável de jovens estaria frequentando diariamente sua farmácia, à procura desse medicamento? A partir dessa denúncia, foi planejada uma investigação, no sentido de se esclarecer o problema.
