Abstract

Em todos os níveis de atenção à saúde, a prestação de assistência é multiprofissional. Por tanto, a equipe de atenção à saúde, que inevitavelmente tem se interesse pelo uso dos medicamentos, deve incluir o farmacêutico.

Em 1985, um comitê de especialistas da OMS sobre as necessidades do pessoal de saúde, declarou que “...a busca da saúde para todos, mediante o enfoque da atenção primária de saúde, exigirá a redefinição dos papéis e funções de todas as categorias de pessoal sanitário, incluindo médicos, enfermeiros, farmacêuticos, dentistas, engenheiros sanitários etc...”.
